Light Up Their Life

Kibera slum Nairobi Local electrician Timmy O'Hanlon is spending Christmas in Kenya. While the rest of us are enjoying the festivities here he will be leading a team of locals in installing solar power in a school and orphanage in Nairobi. This much-needed facility will, among other things, provide mobile and internet communications to the school for the first time.

On Friday 9 November a special benefit gig is being held in Kielys to help Timmy to fund the project. Starting at 9 p.m. and starring The Donal Kirk Band and guests, admission is € 10 and all proceeds will go directly to the fund.

Please give this worthwhile cause your support. See you there.

Many thanks to all those who turned up on the night or gave a donation. Your generous support has raised €6,000 so far.

Update - March 08

Timmy informs us that the power is now up and running in Kenya. Thanks again to all who helped make this project a reality.
