Baby Max Fund Table Quiz
The annual charity table quiz organized by Cllr Gearóid O'Keeffe takes place on Tuesday 13 November, with the questions as usual being set by the slightly skewed mind of Rupert Dowling.
This year's charity is the Baby Max Wings of Love Fund. The Fund was set up by local Darina Ní Chuinneagáin and her husband Declan Donnelly following the tragic death of their son Max to Meningitis B and Meningiccoccal Septicaemia six years ago. The goal of the Fund was to purchase a ‘life or death’ Haemofiltration Machine for Temple Street - Children’s University Hospital. Having achieved that first objective the Fund has continued to purchase vital equipment for several units around Ireland - equipment that has been requested by the staff working there.
In Darina and Declan's own words: "We will never be able to comprehend the sudden and tragic death of our son Max. In memory of Max we set up this charity to provide as much necessary medical equipment as we can for children in hospitals around Ireland. This will never bring our son back to us but it gives us some solace knowing that Max is helping other children and if at all possible ensuring that other parents will not have to go through the same pain that we suffer since his tragic loss."
The night kicks off at 8 p.m.. Please be punctual as these are always a tight affair timewise. Admission €40 per table (4 or 5 persons).
Darina and Declan wish to thank to all those who supported this event. Over €3,000 was raised for the Baby Max Fund.
